Privacy Policy
Last updated: 25 October 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Long Form Marketer (ABN 78 526 391 894), based in New South Wales, Australia ("Long Form Marketer", "we", "us", "our"), collects, uses, shares and protects personal information when you use Makevio, including makevio.com, app.makevio.com, our demo booking pages and related services (the "Service").
We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), and, where they apply to you, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the UK GDPR, and applicable US state privacy laws.
1. Who we are and how to contact us
For personal information covered by this policy, we are the data controller (the entity that decides how and why your information is used).
Long Form Marketer
ABN 78 526 391 894

2. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account information: your name, email address and password. Passwords are stored in a hashed (encrypted) form by our authentication provider; we cannot see them.
- Niche and profile information: information you enter about your business, audience, goals, speaking style, track record and client results.
- Content you upload: videos, audio, documents, text, and the transcripts and summaries we create from them (your "Digital Mind"); photos of yourself; thumbnail inspiration images; custom instructions; and your edits.
- Generated content: ideas, titles, thumbnail plans, thumbnail images and scripts generated for you.
- Billing information: when billing is enabled, your name, email, billing address, country, tax details and payment status. Card details are collected and stored by our payment processor, not by us.
- Communications: messages you send us, such as support emails or feedback.
- Demo bookings: when you book a call, your name, email, phone number (if provided), and answers to booking questions.
Information collected automatically
- Usage information: the features you use, generations you start, credits used, files uploaded, and timestamps.
- Technical information: IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, and server logs, which we use for security, rate limiting and troubleshooting.
- Analytics: we use Vercel Web Analytics, which records aggregated page views and basic device and location information (such as country) without using cookies.
- Product analytics and session recordings: we use PostHog to understand how the Service is used. PostHog records the pages you visit, actions you take (such as creating a project, uploading a file or starting a generation), errors you encounter, and recordings of your sessions showing mouse movements, clicks and navigation. Text, form inputs and images are masked in recordings, so your content is not captured. We link this information to your account ID and email address.
Information about other people
Content you upload may contain personal information about other people, such as clients who appear in your videos or documents. You are responsible for having their permission or another lawful basis to share it with us. For this information, we process it on your behalf to provide the Service.
Sensitive information
We do not ask for sensitive information (such as health information, racial or ethnic origin, or religious beliefs). Please do not upload it unless it is necessary for your content and you have the right to share it. We do not use photos for facial recognition or to identify anyone, and we do not create biometric templates.
3. How we use your information
We use personal information to:
- create and manage your account and let you log in;
- provide the Service, including transcribing and categorising your uploads, and generating ideas, titles, thumbnails and scripts;
- track usage, credits and plan limits;
- process payments and manage subscriptions;
- provide support and respond to your requests;
- send service messages, such as account, security, billing and policy updates;
- send marketing emails, where permitted by law (you can unsubscribe at any time);
- improve and develop the Service (see section 4);
- keep the Service secure, prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce our Terms; and
- comply with legal obligations.
We do not make decisions based solely on automated processing that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.
4. Improving the Service
We may review your uploads, inputs and generated outputs, and how you use the Service, to improve Makevio, for example by refining our prompts, methods and features, fixing problems and measuring output quality. Where practical, we use de-identified or aggregated information for this.
We do not sell your content, and we do not allow our AI model providers to use it to train their own models where their terms give us that choice.
You can ask us not to use your content to improve the Service by emailing support@makevio.com. This will not affect your use of the Service.
5. AI processing
To provide the Service, your content is sent to third-party AI providers that process it on our behalf:
- Anthropic (text generation and categorisation);
- OpenAI (thumbnail image generation, including your uploaded photos and inspiration images); and
- AssemblyAI (transcription of video and audio).
These providers process your content to return results to us and may keep it for a limited period for safety, abuse monitoring and legal purposes under their own terms. Under their commercial terms, Anthropic and OpenAI do not use content sent through their business APIs to train their models by default.
6. Who we share your information with
We share personal information only as needed to run the Service, with:
- Service providers who process data on our behalf, including:
- Supabase (database, file storage and authentication; United States)
- Vercel (hosting and analytics; United States and global network)
- PostHog (product analytics, error tracking and session recordings; European Union)
- Anthropic, OpenAI and AssemblyAI (AI processing; United States)
- Our payment processor, such as Stripe or Paddle (payments and subscriptions). Where Paddle acts as merchant of record, Paddle is responsible for processing your payment and its own privacy policy applies to that processing.
- iClosed (demo call scheduling and related automated emails)
- An email service provider, to send service and marketing emails
- Professional advisers, such as accountants and lawyers, where needed;
- Authorities, where required by law or to protect our rights, our users or others; and
- A successor business, if we restructure, incorporate or sell all or part of our business (including transferring the business to a company we establish). We will tell you if this happens.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
7. International transfers
We are based in Australia, but our service providers store and process data overseas, mainly in the United States. Your account data and uploads are stored in the United States. Product analytics and session recordings are stored in the European Union.
Where we transfer personal information from the European Economic Area, United Kingdom or Switzerland, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (and the UK equivalent) or a provider's certification under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
Before disclosing personal information overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure the recipient handles it in a way consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles.
8. How long we keep information
- Account and content: while your account is active. If your subscription or trial ends and is not renewed, we keep your account and content for 90 days so you can return, then delete it. If you ask us to delete your account, we will delete it within 30 days.
- Digital Mind sources: you can delete individual sources in the app at any time. Deleted sources are removed from active systems promptly.
- Backups: deleted data may remain in backups for up to 30 days before being overwritten.
- Billing records: kept for as long as required by tax and accounting laws (generally 5 years in Australia).
- Logs: security and server logs are kept for a limited period, generally no longer than 90 days.
- Product analytics and session recordings: kept for up to 1 year.
- Marketing: we keep your email for marketing until you unsubscribe, after which we keep a record of your opt-out.
We may keep information longer where required by law, or to resolve disputes or enforce our Terms. De-identified or aggregated data that no longer identifies you may be kept longer.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, including encryption in transit, access controls that keep each user's data separate, restricted handling of secret keys on our servers, and limited access to production systems. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee security. If a data breach is likely to cause you serious harm, we will notify you and the relevant regulators as required by law.
10. Cookies and similar technologies
We use:
- Strictly necessary cookies to keep you logged in and to keep the Service secure.
- Analytics cookies and local storage set by PostHog, to recognise your browser across visits and measure how the Service is used. If you are in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom or Switzerland, we ask for your consent before setting them. Elsewhere, they are on by default. Wherever you are, you can turn analytics on or off at any time using the "Analytics cookies" switch in your profile menu. We work out your region from your IP address.
Vercel Web Analytics does not use cookies. Our demo booking tool (iClosed) may set its own cookies on booking pages. We do not use advertising cookies. You can also control cookies through your browser settings, but blocking necessary cookies may stop the Service working.
11. Marketing
We may send you emails about Makevio, such as product updates and offers, where permitted by law. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, or you can email support@makevio.com. We will still send service messages about your account, security and billing.
12. Your rights
Everyone. You can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal information, or to stop sending you marketing, by emailing support@makevio.com. We may need to verify your identity. We will respond within 30 days.

- Legal obligation: for tax, accounting and legal compliance.
United States. Depending on your state, you may have rights to know, access, correct and delete personal information, and to opt out of the sale of personal information or targeted advertising. 13. Children
The Service is for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.
14. Links to other sites
The Service may link to other websites and services, such as YouTube or our payment processor. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or in the Service before they take effect. The "Last updated" date shows when it last changed.
